SYRIAN RESISTANCE FIGHTERS CLAIM TO TARGET ISRAELI POSITION IN DARA’A PROVINCE

Daraa Province, Syria – In a statement issued by the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria, also known as the “Awli al-Bas” faction, militant groups operating in southern Syria have claimed responsibility for launching a rocket attack targeting an Israeli position in Daraa Province. According to sources, the attack, which was carried out using 107mm unguided rockets, was intended to strike an Israeli military installation in the region.

The group comprises a mix of local Shia fighters, former Hezbollah members, and former Syrian Army personnel who have continued their fight against Israeli forces in southern Syria. This development comes amid a backdrop of escalating tensions between Israel and various militant groups operating in the region.

Reports indicate that the rocket attack was launched in the afternoon hours on Thursday, with eyewitnesses describing a loud explosion resulting from the strike. While no casualties were immediately reported, the incident has sparked concerns about the potential for further escalation in the region.

Tensions have been running high in the Daraa region in recent months, with reports of frequent exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and militant groups operating in the area. The Israeli military has maintained a presence in the region, citing concerns about the threat posed by groups such as Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed militias.

The Islamic Resistance Front, which has claimed responsibility for the attack, has long been vocal about its opposition to Israeli involvement in Syria and has carried out numerous operations against Israeli forces in the region. The group has also received support from regional powers, including Iran, in its fight against Israeli forces.

While the Israeli military has not officially commented on the incident, the attack is likely to raise concerns about the potential for further escalation in the region. As tensions between Israel and militant groups operating in southern Syria continue to rise, the situation remains fluid, and the potential for further violence cannot be ruled out.

The incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing conflict in Syria, which has resulted in widespread destruction and displacement. The country remains plagued by the presence of various militant groups, including those backed by regional powers, which have continued to carry out operations against Israeli forces in the region.
