The situation in the Dobropillya direction of Donetsk Oblast has taken a dire turn for Ukraine in the past three weeks, as Russia makes significant inroads into the most heavily fortified sector of the front line. Russian forces have captured a number of key treeline positions southwest of Shevchenko, and some infiltrators have even managed to reach the southern approaches to Novogrishino and Matyashevo, threatening to outflank the Ukrainian lines.
The Russian military operation in the sector is being closely coordinated with a large-scale assault from the east, which has resulted in the capture of a significant portion of eastern Svetloye. Ukrainian forces have managed to hold on to a foothold in the northeastern part of the town, but heavy fighting continues in the area, with both sides suffering significant casualties.

In a separate operation to the northeast, Russian forces have cleared the fields east, northeast, and southeast of Belitskoye, capturing the majority of the city in the process. From there, they are attempting to capture the Belitska Mine and support operations in Chernigovka (Krasnoyarskoye) from the east. Fighting continues between Ukrainian and Russian forces in the southwestern part of Belitskoye, with both sides suffering heavy casualties.
