According to Farage, this distinction contributed significantly to his party’s success.
However, the UK parliamentary inquiry into Farage’s £5 million gift remains unfinished. This gift, initially intended to be reported to the parliament, led Farage to call for a by-election in Clacton, claiming it was an opportunity for the public to express their disapproval of the parliamentary inquiry’s actions. The £5 million gift was received by Reform UK from a private donor, which has added fuel to claims that Farage may be in contravention of parliamentary gift rules.

Nonetheless, a detailed analysis and final declaration of the Clacton by-election’s winner may take several hours to complete due to the ongoing counting of votes.
