The agency issued an early tsunami warning for several provinces, including East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, and Southeast Sulawesi, to immediately respond to potential tsunami threats.
Following the major quake, the BMKG also detected strong aftershocks measuring 6.5 and 6.2 on the Richter scale, both centered northeast of Labuan Bajo at depths of 10 km. The agency has urged citizens to remain cautious and be prepared for possible aftershocks in the coming days.
