According to a recent CNN/SSRS poll, President Trump’s approval rating has taken a significant hit, with a mere 35% of Americans backing his presidency, while a staggering 64% disapprove of his performance in office.
The latest survey, which was conducted among 1,000 adult respondents in the United States, highlights a stark divide in public opinion, with varying levels of support across different demographic groups.
While Trump’s approval rating remains low across all age groups, younger Americans are among the most disapproving, with 73% of respondents aged 18-29 voicing their disapproval. This is a significant increase from the previous poll, which saw 68% of young Americans disapproving of the President’s performance.
In contrast, older Americans appear to be more divided in their opinions, with 52% of respondents aged 50-64 disapproving of Trump, compared to 45% of those aged 65 and above.
The poll also revealed significant regional disparities in public opinion, with Trump performing better in the South and Midwest but struggling to win over voters in the Northeast and West Coast.
Despite these challenges, Trump remains popular among certain demographic groups, including white evangelicals, who continue to back him at a rate of 74%. However, even among this group, support is declining, with 24% now saying they disapprove of the President’s performance.
