Over Half of Iran’s Missile Launch Platforms Remain Intact

Washington D.C. (CNN) – According to sources familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments, about half of Iran’s missile launch platforms have survived following recent strikes on Iranian military facilities.

The assessments indicate that Iran’s attempts to rebuild its military capabilities, including its ballistic missile program, are on track despite efforts from Western nations to degrade its military posture. While U.S. airstrikes and missile strikes against Iranian targets may have significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities, these assessments reveal that Tehran can still rely on a considerable portion of its missile capabilities.

The U.S. airstrikes earlier this month, carried out in retaliation for a drone strike that was attributed to Iran, significantly damaged several key military sites in Iran. However, intelligence officials have revealed that Iran has maintained an effective network of backup targets in an effort to mitigate the damage caused by these strikes.

According to the intelligence officials, the majority of these backup missile launch platforms will be operational in the coming months, providing Iran with a significant strategic advantage. These platforms, which are believed to be spread across several locations across Iran, will enable Tehran to maintain its military posture despite efforts to degrade its capabilities.

The assessment also notes that Iran’s ability to maintain and repair damaged infrastructure has been facilitated by its significant domestic resources and its strategic stockpiles of critical materials.

The intelligence officials further added that Iran’s military strategy is becoming increasingly complex and dynamic as the country shifts its focus towards long-range missile capabilities. This shift is likely aimed at enhancing Iran’s deterrent capabilities in the region.
