Tensions in the Middle East have escalated as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that the 98th wave of Operation Truthful Promise 4 has resulted in significant hits against U.S. and Israeli forces. The operation, launched by the IRGC’s elite forces, targeted command, operational, logistics, and industrial-military infrastructure belonging to the United States and Israel.
According to the IRGC, the operation struck key Israeli-linked military and economic assets across the region. Among the targets was the Israeli-linked container ship SDN7, which was allegedly hit by IRGC forces. The operation also focused on areas in north and south Tel Aviv, where strategic centres and critical infrastructure are located. Haifa, a major port city in Israel, was also targeted, with IRGC forces allegedly striking strategic centres in the city. Chemical plants in Beersheba, a strategic Israeli city located in the Negev Desert, were also hit, causing significant damage and disrupting Israel’s industrial-military capabilities.
Furthermore, the operation targeted Israeli forces stationed in Petah Tikva, a city located north of Tel Aviv. Petah Tikva is home to several key military bases and is a crucial logistics hub for Israel’s armed forces. The city’s strategic location and military significance make it a highly coveted target for the IRGC.
According to reports, a U.S. amphibious assault ship (LHA7) with over 5,000 sailors on board was allegedly forced to retreat due to the intense IRGC bombardment. The LHA7, a state-of-the-art assault ship, is a key component of the U.S. Navy’s amphibious assault fleet and plays a critical role in the U.S. military’s power projection capabilities in the region.
In addition to the hits against Israeli and U.S. forces, the operation also targeted a joint UAE-Israeli drone production centre at Ali Al Salem base, allegedly causing significant damage to the facility. The UAE-Israeli drone production centre is a critical component of the U.S.-Israeli military alliance and is key to the production of advanced unmanned systems used by both countries’ armed forces.
The IRGC’s claims of success in Operation Truthful Promise 4 are likely to raise concerns among U.S. and Israeli officials, who are already grappling with the implications of the Iran-UAE agreement and the ongoing conflict in Yemen. The operation highlights the IRGC’s willingness to escalate tensions with its regional adversaries and underscores the complex security dynamics at play in the Middle East.
