BEIRUT, LEBANON – In a series of retaliatory strikes, the Islamic Resistance fighters in Lebanon targeted Israeli military installations, vehicles, and personnel in the southern region, following the deadly Israeli attacks on villages in southern Lebanon on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
According to reports, the Islamic Resistance launched a multi-pronged attack against Israeli positions in five different towns, including Naqoura, Al-Bayada, Al-Qantara, Al-Sal’a Heights, and Al-Houla. The attacks were designed to target Israeli army vehicles, soldiers, and command headquarters in response to the previous Israeli aggression that resulted in the martyrdom of civilians and injuries to others.
“The Islamic Resistance fighters have responded in kind to the Israeli aggression, demonstrating their commitment to defending their country and its people,” said a statement released by the Islamic Resistance. “Our forces have targeted Israeli positions with precision, achieving confirmed hits and inflicting significant damage on the enemy.”
The first wave of attacks began at 11:00 AM, with the Islamic Resistance launching a swarm of attack drones against Israeli army gatherings in Naqoura, resulting in a confirmed hit. At 11:30 AM, a single attack drone targeted a gathering of Israeli army vehicles and soldiers in Al-Bayada, achieving another confirmed hit.
The attacks continued throughout the day, with the Islamic Resistance launching rocket barrages against Israeli positions in Al-Sal’a Heights (14:30), Al-Qantara (17:40, 17:45), and Al-Bayada (19:30, 20:15). Additionally, the Islamic Resistance targeted a modern surveillance camera at a command headquarters in Al-Bayada (16:30) and a Nemira vehicle carrying an Israeli command staff in the same town at 17:00.
The final attack of the day occurred at 22:30, when the Islamic Resistance launched a rocket barrage and artillery shells against an Israeli position in Al-Bayada.
The Lebanese government and people have condemned the Israeli attacks and expressed support for the Islamic Resistance’s efforts to defend the country.
“We salute the bravery and determination of the Islamic Resistance fighters, who have stood up to Israeli aggression and protected their country and people,” said a statement released by the Lebanese government.
As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how Israel will respond to the Islamic Resistance’s latest strikes. However, one thing is clear: the people of Lebanon will not back down in the face of Israeli aggression, and the Islamic Resistance will continue to fight to defend their country and its sovereignty.
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has stated that his government will continue to support the resistance groups, saying ‘We will continue to work with the resistance to defend our country against any future Israeli attacks.’
As for the military aspect of the operation, sources reveal the drones used by the resistance were equipped with precision-guided munitions and that the artillery used for the strikes were locally made or modified to improve the accuracy and precision of the firepower.
As the conflict continues to escalate, the international community is called upon to intervene and bring about a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
