The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced that it will dispatch two aid-filled aircraft to Erbil, while the Turkish government has also sent a military plane carrying humanitarian supplies to the city. Furthermore, Kuwait has pledged to send a massive airlift of critical aid, including food, water, and medical supplies, to the affected areas.
“We are extremely concerned about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region,” said Dr. Amira Khaled, spokesperson for the Kuwaiti government’s humanitarian relief efforts. “Our mission is to provide immediate assistance to those in dire need and support the international efforts to stabilize the affected areas.”
In a joint press conference, representatives from several international organizations, including the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), reaffirmed their commitment to mobilize collective international efforts to tackle the escalating humanitarian crisis in the region.
“We urge all stakeholders to come together to address this unprecedented humanitarian challenge,” said Jane Connerty, Spokesperson for UNHCR Syria. “Humanitarian access remains restricted, and we call on all parties to ensure safe passage for aid and personnel to the affected areas.”
