Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Criticizes Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates

The Iranian National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has issued a stern warning to Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, condemning their perceived misalignment with Iran’s national security and foreign policy interests. In a statement issued on social media, the commission accused both countries of pursuing anti-Iranian agendas and undermining regional stability.

According to the commission, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have repeatedly demonstrated a disregard for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The statement criticized the two countries’ involvement in regional military operations, as well as their perceived support for extremist groups operating in the region.

“We are witnessing the involvement of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in regional conflicts, which is an obvious attempt to undermine Iran’s security and create a security vacuum in the region,” the statement read. “Their actions are a clear breach of regional norms and are causing irreparable damage to regional stability.”

The commission also accused the two countries of using their significant economic resources to influence regional policies and promote their own national interests. The statement pointed out that Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have been using their economic leverage to pressure other regional countries into adopting policies that are detrimental to Iran’s interests.

The statement comes at a time of heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, following the collapse of a nuclear deal between the two countries. Iran has been accused of pursuing a nuclear program that poses a threat to regional and global security, while the US has imposed harsh economic sanctions on the country in an attempt to pressure it into dismantling its nuclear program.

In a separate statement, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi accused the US of attempting to use the crisis to further its own regional interests. “The US is trying to use this crisis to further its own objectives and undermine regional stability,” he said. “But we will not be swayed by these attempts. Our focus remains on restoring our national security and advancing our regional interests.”

The criticism from the Iranian National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is seen as a significant escalation of tensions between Iran and Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. While the two countries have historically been wary of Iran’s growing influence in the region, this latest statement marks a significant hardening of positions.

In response to the statement, Bahraini and Emirati officials have declined to comment. However, analysts say that the situation is likely to worsen in the coming weeks, with both sides dug in and unwilling to compromise. “This latest statement from the Iranian commission is a significant escalation of tensions in the region,” said one analyst. “It’s clear that both sides are determined to take a hardline stance on this issue, which is likely to have serious consequences for regional stability.”
