Preliminary findings suggest that Hezbollah was responsible for launching the drone.
The situation escalated further on 12 May when a drone exploded inside the UNIFIL headquarters, damaging several buildings. However, thankfully, no peacekeepers were injured in the incident. “UNIFIL has formally protested to the Lebanese Armed Forces and to Israel, reminding all parties of the need to exercise caution and respect the safety and security of UN personnel and positions,” said a statement issued by UNIFIL.
