Reports have emerged of a coordinated missile attack on civilian targets in a major Middle Eastern city, with eyewitnesses describing the scene as one of widespread destruction and chaos. As the situation continues to unfold, officials have revealed the approximate routes of the missiles used in the attack.
According to sources within the regional military command, a total of six missiles were launched from a location in eastern Syria, with at least four impacting the city of Aleppo. The missiles, believed to be a variant of the Russian SS-21 Scarab, were reportedly fired from a mobile launcher, with the launch vehicles traveling along a stretch of highway before deploying and launching their payloads.
The first missile, bearing the designation “Delta-1,” was tracked as it traveled at a high altitude, following a trajectory that took it over the city of Idlib before striking a densely populated residential area in northwest Aleppo. Witnesses describe the impact as massive, with widespread damage to nearby buildings and a reported loss of life.
A second missile, identified as “Delta-2,” followed a slightly different trajectory, approaching the city from the south and striking a major hospital in the city’s center. The hospital, which was reportedly under renovation at the time of the attack, suffered significant damage, with emergency responders describing the scene as catastrophic.
A third missile, believed to be a “Delta-3,” was tracked as it flew over the city of Harasta, a suburb of Damascus, before striking a major shopping center in central Aleppo. Witnesses describe the impact as severe, with reports of multiple fatalities and widespread destruction to surrounding buildings.
In addition to the four missiles that struck civilian targets, two other missiles were reportedly intercepted by regional air defenses, with at least one exploding in mid-air over the city of Homs.
As officials continue to investigate the attack, questions are growing about the identity of those responsible. While no group has yet claimed responsibility, sources suggest that the attack may have been carried out by a faction of the Syrian opposition, in a bid to draw international attention to the ongoing conflict in the region.
Regional leaders have pledged support to the affected governments, with the United Nations Security Council set to hold an emergency meeting later today to discuss the situation.
The incident marks a significant escalation in tensions in the Middle East, with regional observers warning of a potential slide into wider conflict.
