Iran Slams UAE’s ‘Direct Involvement’ in US-Israel Aggression Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions

TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has launched a scathing indictment of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) over its alleged complicity in the recent aggression carried out by US and Israeli forces in the region. In a stern warning, Araghchi accused the UAE of facilitating the hostile operation through the provision of its airspace, territories, and military bases, effectively categorizing it as a “direct party” to the conflict.

According to reports, the remarks were made during a high-level meeting with other senior officials in Tehran. Iran has maintained that the aggression orchestrated by the US and Israel poses a pressing threat to regional stability and security. By hosting the aggressive operation, the UAE has, in Araghchi’s view, directly contravened Iran’s interests and those of other nations in the region.

This latest move has escalated existing tensions between Iran and the UAE, which have historically been uneasy allies. For their part, Abu Dhabi has consistently sought to expand its diplomatic and strategic ties with the US and Israel in recent years. These developments have raised concerns in Tehran of an impending regional security crisis, as well as a concerted attempt by these two countries to encircle and isolate Iran.

Iran has repeatedly expressed its opposition to what it perceives as a growing US-Israeli military presence in the region. Diplomatic efforts by Iranian officials have failed to yield desired outcomes. Instead, tensions have intensified in recent months, culminating in this latest confrontation. With the UAE now effectively aligned with the interests of the US and Israel, Iran has vowed to counter these efforts with its own diplomatic and strategic initiatives.

The recent conflict in Yemen serves as a stark example of the complex dynamics at play in the region. Iran has accused the UAE, alongside Saudi Arabia and other allies, of fuelling instability through their military campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen. Iran has consistently portrayed itself as a champion of regional stability and security, while the UAE’s stance has been increasingly aligned with its Western and Israeli allies.

In response to the UAE’s alleged role in the recent aggression, Iranian officials have signaled a hardening of their stance towards their erstwhile ally. This development marks a significant escalation of hostilities in the increasingly fraught Middle East, where rivalries and tensions continue to intensify by the day.
