Tensions between Iran, the US, and Israel have escalated in the past few weeks, casting a dark shadow over the global energy market. Amid rising fears of an impending military confrontation, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei has spoken out against what he described as “the next grand lie” being concocted by the US and Israeli regimes to justify their actions.
According to Baqaei, the two nations claim that their actions are aimed at “preserving peace and stability in global energy markets.” However, in reality, Baqaei argues that it was the reckless warmongering of the US and Israeli regimes that shattered promising diplomatic processes, leading to a surge in insecurity in vital energy routes.
The Iranian spokesperson pointed out that the US and Israeli regimes, through unprovoked military aggression against Iran, have deliberately injected instability into the energy markets. He then accused these nations of using this instability as a pretext to accuse Iran of destabilization, a move designed to put into practice the infamous dictum coined by Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels: “Accuse others of what you yourself are doing.”
This, Baqaei argued, is a familiar tactic employed by the US and Israeli regimes. They manufacture crises and instigate wars, only to escalate further under the guise of “restoring stability” and “defending peace.” These actions, Baqaei warned, are a cynical play to justify their aggressive policies.
In a stark warning, Baqaei referenced the words of ancient Roman historian Agricola, who observed that “those who create a desolation call it peace.” This phrase has been aptly captured in a famous quote by Roman historian Tacitus, “Sedes sunt aedificia desolationum” or “They create a desolation and call it peace.”
The statements made by Baqaei appear to reflect the frustration and disappointment felt by the Iranian government, which has been working tirelessly to engage in diplomatic processes aimed at resolving long-standing conflicts. However, the lack of cooperation from the US and Israeli regimes has stalled these efforts, leading to increased tensions and anxiety in the region.
The international community remains vigilant, monitoring developments in the region closely. As the situation continues to deteriorate, the specter of war looms ever closer, casting a dark shadow over the prospects for peace and stability in the Middle East.
