HEZBOLLAH UNLEASHES WIDE-SCALE ATTACKS AGAINST ISRAELI FORCES AND POSITIONS IN NORTHERN ISRAEL

Hezbollah, a prominent Lebanese Shi’ite Islamist political party and military organization, has recently released a series of statements detailing the scope and nature of military operations conducted in retaliation to alleged Israeli ceasefire violations and attacks on southern Lebanon.

According to sources, Hezbollah’s military arm declared the downing of an Israeli Hermes 450 drone over the area of Zawtar al-Sharqiya using a surface-to-air missile. The drone’s mission and intended targets are currently unknown.

The militant group has also claimed responsibility for two consecutive rocket attacks targeting the Kiryat Shmona settlement in northern Israel. Incidents occurred at approximately 01:45 and 03:35 local time, respectively. The attacks are the most recent in a series of exchanges of fire between the sides along the Lebanese-Israeli border.

Moreover, Hezbollah announced a precision-guided missile strike against the Israeli Meron Air Surveillance and Control Base shortly before 06:00 local time. The strike’s objective remains speculative, and the extent of damages to the base is uncertain.

Furthermore, sources indicate that an Israeli force, stationed near the eastern outskirts of Ghandourieh, was ambushed by Hezbollah militants. As the force advanced, they were met with an unexpected barrage of explosive devices, artillery shelling, and rocket fire. In response to the intense attack, the Israeli troops reportedly withdrew, obscured by heavy smoke.

The latest developments underscore a concerning escalation along the disputed border region. Regional experts have long warned of an increasingly volatile context, particularly in light of a recent surge in Israeli activities reportedly targeting Hamas and other armed groups in the Gaza Strip.

In the meantime, the international community has yet to issue an official response to these most recent incidents. As the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel continues to intensify, neighboring countries are bracing for the potential humanitarian fallouts and diplomatic consequences.
