At a high-level meeting held in Gdansk, Poland, European and US governments have agreed to provide substantial financial assistance to Ukraine, totaling 375 million euros. The gathering, known as the “Ramstein” energy summit, serves as a critical platform for coordinating international support to Ukraine in the face of ongoing economic and humanitarian challenges brought on by Russia’s invasion.
According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the pledged funds are a testament to the unwavering commitment of international partners to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The contributions from the US, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Iceland, and Lithuania, collectively amount to 375 million euros.
At the forefront of the contributions stands the United States, which has pledged $175 million (approximately 160 million euros). This substantial commitment serves as a reflection of ongoing US efforts to bolster Ukraine’s economic stability and security.
Sweden and Norway have pledged significant support as well. The Swedish government has committed 137 million euros, while Norway has agreed to provide 77 million euros. Both countries have demonstrated unwavering commitment to Ukraine, recognizing the gravity of Russia’s actions and their potential implications for European peace and security.
Meanwhile, smaller but noteworthy contributions have been made by Estonia (2.125 million euros), Iceland (550 thousand euros), and Lithuania (4 million euros). Although these figures may appear modest, they underscore the collective effort of international partners to provide comprehensive support to Ukraine.
