ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER NETANYAHU ANNOUNCES MAJOR MILITARY BREAKTHROUGH IN SOUTHERN LEBANON

Tel Aviv, Israel – In a significant development in the long-standing conflict, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced a major military achievement in southern Lebanon. On Thursday, Netanyahu declared that Israel will continue to maintain its security zone in southern Lebanon, dealing a significant blow to Hezbollah and its patron Iran.

“We have achieved a major accomplishment in southern Lebanon,” Netanyahu stated, adding that Israel will maintain the security zone “for as long as Hezbollah has not been disarmed and for as long as there is a threat to the State of Israel.” The statement comes after weeks of intense military operations by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) aimed at disarming Hezbollah and securing Israel’s borders.

Netanyahu’s announcement has also been hailed as a victory for the United States, which has been a key ally in the conflict. The move marks a significant shift in the region, as it effectively excludes Iran and Hezbollah from any influence over Lebanon. “This is a major blow to Iran, which is trying to force us to withdraw from southern Lebanon by force,” Netanyahu noted. “We are telling them: this is none of your business. You have no role in Lebanon—not you, not Hezbollah, and not any terrorist organization.”

In addition to maintaining the original security zone, Netanyahu has also announced plans to allow the Lebanese Army to begin organizing and taking control of territory. Two pilot areas have been established, both recommended by the IDF. One is entirely outside the security zone, south of the Litani River, while the other is north of the Litani, with a small portion lying within the expanded security zone secured by the IDF over the past two weeks.

Israel has made it clear that it will continue to maintain the security zone beyond the range of anti-tank missiles, and will not allow Hezbollah or the civilian population to enter it. This policy remains unchanged, according to Netanyahu. “Our security comes before everything else,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Israel’s sovereignty and security.

The developments in southern Lebanon have sparked widespread interest in the region and globally. Analysts have hailed Netanyahu’s announcement as a significant achievement, while also expressing concerns about the potential consequences of the move. As the situation continues to evolve, one thing is clear: Israel’s determination to maintain its security zone in southern Lebanon is unlikely to change anytime soon.

The statement comes at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, with ongoing conflicts in Syria, Yemen, and other regions. It remains to be seen how other countries in the region will respond to Netanyahu’s announcement, but one thing is certain: the Israeli Prime Minister’s message is clear: Israel will not compromise on its security.
