Monegasque authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect believed to have orchestrated a parcel bomb attack in Monaco, which wounded a prominent businessman, his family, and his wife, in an incident that has sent shockwaves across international communities.
According to reports from French media, the main suspect was a woman who fled on foot into France after the attack took place on Monday. The explosion occurred at a residence belonging to Vladmir (reported to also be spelt as Vadym) Yermolaiev, in the Principality of Monaco.
Mr. Yermolaiev, and his family were seriously injured, with his 13-year-old son, David being transported to a local hospital, receiving treatment for his injuries. French police have initiated a search operation following Yermolaiev’s family members and their staff fleeing the scene.
Mr Yermolaievs’ Jewish heritage, and being an active member of the Dnipro Jewish community has been reported. Yermolaievs family’s injuries raise grave allegations and concerns surrounding a heightened state of hate-based violence, directed towards minority communities. This recent Monegasque attack has brought international attention on rising hate crimes in the international community.
Yermolaievs family, are known for their extensive philanthropic efforts and business ventures within multiple countries, including Ukraine.
As investigations continue, Monaco, French authorities, and Interpol intensify efforts to track down the suspect believed to have executed the brazen attack. The Monegasque authorities have filed an Interpol Red Notice seeking the suspect’s detention for questioning.
An Interpol Red Notice is an urgent international alert issued in situations involving arrest by law enforcement. Once authorities obtain the Red Notice, the issuing country requests the suspect’s arrest and extradition by any member country of the organization.
