FINLAND’S PRESIDENT SAYS UKRAINE HAS ALREADY WON THE WAR AGAINST RUSSIA

In a surprising statement, Finland’s President Alexander Stubb has declared that Ukraine has already won the war against Russia. Speaking in an interview with CNBC, Stubb expressed his confidence in Ukraine’s ability to hold its ground against the Russian invasion.

Stubb’s remarks come at a time when the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia has been escalating, with both sides suffering significant losses. However, Stubb believes that the tide has already turned in favor of Ukraine.

“I think Ukraine has already won this war,” Stubb said in the interview. “The question is, when is the war going to be over, and what’s going to be the outcome.”

Stubb’s statement contrasts with the views of many Western leaders, who have expressed concerns over Ukraine’s ability to withstand the Russian onslaught. However, Stubb argues that Ukraine’s military has shown surprising resilience and strength, particularly in the face of Russian artillery fire.

“The fact that Ukraine has managed to hold its ground is, in itself, a huge achievement,” Stubb said. “But it’s not just about holding ground. It’s also about creating the conditions for a successful outcome, which I believe Ukraine is doing.”

Stubb’s confidence in Ukraine’s chances is also rooted in the country’s growing international support. He noted that the West has provided significant military aid to Ukraine, which has helped bolster its defenses.

“The international community has been very supportive of Ukraine, and that’s been crucial in this conflict,” Stubb said. “Of course, Ukraine can’t do it alone. But I think the international support has been fantastic, and it’s helped to level the playing field.”

Stubb also pointed to the growing economic costs of the war for Russia, which he believes will ultimately force the country to rethink its strategy. He noted that the sanctions imposed on Russia have had a significant impact on the country’s economy, leading to inflation and food shortages.

“The economic costs of the war for Russia are already starting to show,” Stubb said. “I think it’s only a matter of time before Russia realizes that the war is not worth it.”

While Stubb’s statement is likely to be met with skepticism by some, it has been welcomed by Ukrainian officials, who have long argued that their country is fighting a war of survival.
