In a remarkable display of inter-agency coordination and cutting-edge technology, two US Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft from Moody Air Force Base participated in the search and rescue operation for a 73-year-old boater who fell overboard in Lake Arbuckle, central Florida, on Monday night.
According to officials, the two pilots were in the middle of an aerial training exercise when they received a distress call from local authorities to assist in the search and rescue operation.
