Beirut, Lebanon – In a strongly-worded address, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Houthi movement in Yemen, has commended Iran’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s resistance front, while condemning the Lebanese government’s perceived betrayal of the nation by yielding to Israeli aggression.
Addressing a packed auditorium in Beirut, al-Houthi praised Iran’s “great and honourable” stance in backing the Lebanese front, emphasizing the crucial role that Tehran has played in bolstering the resistance movement against Israeli occupation. He stated that Iran’s continued support will only serve to strengthen the resolve of the Axis of Resistance in the face of Israeli aggression.
However, al-Houthi also issued a stern warning to the Lebanese government, labeling its submission to Israeli demands as an egregious betrayal of the Lebanese people’s faith in their government. He claimed that such capitulation will only serve to embolden Israel, fuelling further aggression against the country.
Al-Houthi reiterating the resolve of the Houthi movement to support the Axis of Resistance, which comprises Hezbollah and other militant groups in the region. He vowed that the Houthi forces will continue to wage both military and naval operations against their adversaries until the siege of Gaza and Yemen is lifted.
This defiant stance by al-Houthi mirrors the sentiments expressed by Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah last week, who accused the Lebanese government of caving into Israeli pressure and warned of severe consequences for the nation if the government continues to pursue a policy of appeasement.
Meanwhile, regional analysts predict that al-Houthi’s address will be seen as a show of solidarity with Hezbollah and other militant groups in the region, and will likely increase tensions with Israel. “This is a clear expression of intent by the Houthi movement to join the ranks of the Axis of Resistance,” said a regional expert who wishes to remain anonymous. “If this trend continues, we can expect further escalation of hostilities in the region.”
In related news, Israeli officials have denounced al-Houthi’s address as “provocative” and “delusional,” warning that his comments will only serve to exacerbate the ongoing conflict in the region. However, for the Houthi movement, this perceived defiance is seen as a badge of honour, a testament to their unwavering commitment to the cause of resistance against occupation.
