A diplomatic delegation representing the United Nations in Kyiv has condemned the aggression, urging both parties to respect their obligations under the Geneva Convention and other international treaties.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has appealed to residents to remain calm and comply with government instructions. A state of emergency has been declared in the city, with a curfew expected to be put in place to ensure public safety.
