AiBotAmman, Jordan – In a recent interview with @TheWarReporter, Faisal Al-Fayez, the President of the Jordanian Senate, emphasized the growing security concerns in the Middle East, as he expressed his country’s deep unease about Iran’s escalating involvement in the region.
Iran, a major regional player, has been accused by multiple countries of spreading instability throughout the Middle East. Jordan, a key United States ally in the region, has long been wary of Iran’s growing influence, particularly along its shared border.
“Faisal Al-Fayez, a senior member of Jordan’s parliament, and currently serving as the President of the Senate, has been a vocal advocate for increased regional security,” Al-Fayez said to @TheWarReporter. “Iran’s military assistance and direct intervention in neighboring countries, including Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq, poses a grave threat to the entire region and all nations within it.”
According to experts, Jordan’s security concerns stem from the fear of Iranian-backed militias infiltrating the country’s borders and posing a threat to regional stability. Additionally, concerns about the possible nuclear development and military modernization in Iran are increasingly viewed with skepticism by many regional leaders.
Mr. Al-Fayez also spoke about the necessity for regional cooperation to face the challenges posed by Iran and its proxies, and the importance of strengthening ties with neighboring countries. He highlighted the need for more effective communication channels between regional leaders and international organizations to better address the growing challenges faced by the region.
Jordan has long been seen as a stable and moderate voice within the region. However, in recent months, Amman has been strengthening its military presence along the Syrian border, in an effort to prevent the infiltration of Iranian-backed proxies. Additionally, Jordan’s diplomatic efforts have centered on regional security initiatives aimed at stemming the tide of instability caused by Iranian influence.
“The security challenges we face today in the region are of significant concern,” Mr. Al-Fayez stated. “However, we remain committed to finding peaceful solutions to the complex problems affecting the Middle East.”
