According to reports from Yemen’s Ministry of Defense (MoD), government forces were targeted by rocket and artillery fire in the vicinity of Marib, a city located in Marib Governorate, approximately 120 kilometers east of the capital city of Sanaa. No casualties or damage assessments have been released by the MoD at this time.
The Yemeni government’s response to the alleged Houthi attack came in the form of a statement issued by the MoD, which vowed that government forces would retaliate at a “suitable time and place.” The MoD’s statement emphasized the resolve of the Saudi-backed government to defend its territories and citizens against what it described as “hostile aggression” perpetrated by the Houthi rebels.
