New Details Emerge on Bint Jbeil Hospital Evacuation

The Salah Ghandour Hospital in the southern Lebanese city of Bint Jbeil has been forced to evacuate its patients and staff due to repeated targeting by Israeli airstrikes. According to hospital officials, the repeated bombings have made it impossible for them to provide medical care to those in need.

“We have tried to continue our work despite the ongoing attacks, but it has become unbearable,” said a hospital spokesperson, who wished to remain anonymous. “We couldn’t take it anymore. The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority, and we have no choice but to evacuate.”

The hospital, which has been a major medical hub in the region, has been the target of several Israeli airstrikes over the past few weeks. The bombings have caused significant damage to the hospital’s infrastructure, including its emergency department, operating rooms, and intensive care unit.

“We have done everything we can to continue providing medical care, but the situation has become too unstable,” said the spokesperson. “We are working with local authorities to find a safe alternative for our patients and staff.”

The evacuation of the hospital has left many in the local community concerned about the availability of medical care in the area.

“This is a disaster for our community,” said a local resident, who wished to remain anonymous. “The hospital is the only place we can go for medical care, and now they are leaving us with no option.”

The Israeli military has not commented on the targeting of the hospital, but sources close to the situation have indicated that the attacks are part of a larger military operation aimed at targeting Hezbollah positions in the area.

As the situation continues to unfold, the international community is calling for restraint and an end to the violence.

“This is a humanitarian crisis that requires an immediate solution,” said a spokesperson for the United Nations. “We urge all parties to respect international law and protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.”
