NETANYAHU VOWS CONTINUED STRIKES AGAINST IRAN, HIGHLIGHTING COORDINATED EFFORTS WITH US

In an interview on national television in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underscored the country’s unwavering commitment to disrupting Iranian operations in the region, stating that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is engaging in targeted attacks on Iranian commanders, infrastructure, and logistical supply chains.

“We are eliminating commanders, bombing bridges, and targeting infrastructure,” Netanyahu confirmed. He emphasized that these operations are not only being conducted under the direct guidance of Israel’s top leaders but also in full coordination with their counterparts in the United States.

The remarks from Netanyahu came as the Israeli government continues to express skepticism about the efficacy of the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear agreement between the P5+1 (the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, China, France, and Germany) and Iran. Israeli officials have been vocal about their concerns that the deal does not adequately address regional security threats posed by Tehran.

Israel has, in recent years, engaged in a series of military strikes targeting Iranian interests in the Middle East. Among the most notable operations conducted by the Israeli military is the alleged airstrikes in Syria, which have reportedly involved the strikes on key Iranian military assets, including supply depots and logistical facilities.

According to Netanyahu, ongoing efforts by Israel to counter Iranian influence will persist, supported by full-scale cooperation between the IDF and the US military. “In full coordination between me and Trump, and between the IDF and the United States military, we will continue to strike Iran,” Netanyahu reiterated in his television address.

It remains unclear the exact nature and extent of Israeli-US cooperation, with both nations typically reluctant to discuss sensitive information regarding military engagements.

As tensions in the Middle East persist, with ongoing conflicts in Lebanon and Yemen adding to the complexity of regional dynamics, a clearer picture has been painted of the role that the United States is likely to play in supporting the ongoing operations of the IDF.
