In a significant joint operation, a deployed USCG AirSta Miami HC-144 airplane crew provided critical assistance to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in intercepting a suspected drug smuggling vessel off the coast of Andros, Bahamas. The operation resulted in the successful apprehension of three individuals and the seizure of nearly 2,570 pounds of marijuana.
According to reports from Bahamian authorities, the joint operation involved coordinated efforts between the USCG AirSta Miami crew and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. Utilizing advanced surveillance capabilities, the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami crew provided critical real-time intelligence to enable the effective tracking and interception of the suspected smuggling vessel.
As a result of the operation, Bahamian authorities successfully stopped the suspected smuggling vessel, apprehending three individuals involved in the alleged smuggling operation. Additionally, nearly 2,570 pounds of marijuana were seized in the operation, highlighting the ongoing threat of large-scale drug smuggling in the region.
