New Regional Ferry Service Unveils Ambitious Plans to Connect Lebanon with Cyprus, Turkey, and Syria

In a bid to boost regional economic cooperation and tourism, a new regional ferry company is set to launch a string of new routes connecting Jounieh, Lebanon with Cyprus, Turkey, and Syria. According to reports, the new ferry service aims to provide a more efficient and cost-effective travel option for passengers in the region, bridging the gap between the eastern Mediterranean and the Levant.

Under the new regional ferry service, passengers from Jounieh, a bustling port city north of Beirut, will have direct access to Larnaca in Cyprus, Mersin in Turkey, and Latakia in Syria. The ferry company has announced that its services will cater to a capacity of around 350 passengers per trip, providing ample space for travelers, cargo, and vehicles.

While details regarding the exact launch date of the service have yet to be made public, sources close to the project suggest that the ferry operator has made significant strides in preparing for its inaugural journey. Ferry operators are known to have been carrying out rigorous maintenance checks on their vessels, ensuring that they meet international safety and environmental regulations.

The prices of one-way tickets have reportedly been set at $95 to Cyprus, $165 to Turkey, and $135 to Syria. This development is expected to attract a large number of travelers seeking to explore these destinations, many of whom are likely to be attracted by the prospect of visiting these countries without the hassle of tedious customs and immigration procedures.

The introduction of the new ferry service is expected to have significant economic and social implications for Lebanon as well. It will provide an essential lifeline for Lebanon’s economy, generating revenue and creating employment opportunities for local communities along the coast.

Commenting on the ambitious plan, officials from the ferry operator have pointed out that they plan to operate multiple daily sailings on each of the new routes, with the aim of providing high-quality services that meet the expectations of passengers from Lebanon, Cyprus, Turkey, and Syria.

While some have expressed concern regarding security and safety implications, officials have assured citizens of Lebanon and other countries involved that all necessary precautions have been taken to ensure the smooth and secure operation of these new ferry routes.
