The TOLUN munitions, which are equivalent in size and capability to the American Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), feature a penetrating warhead weighing approximately 105 kilograms, capable of breaching up to 1 meter of reinforced concrete. Equipped with Inertial Navigation System (INS)/Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) guidance and Counter-Remote Power Amplifier (CRPA) anti-jam antennas, the TOLUN munitions offer sub-10-meter Circular Error Probable (CEP) accuracy and a stand-off range of over 100 kilometers when deployed from F-16 fighter jets or Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
ASELSAN’s TOLUN family includes variants such as the TOLUN-P, TOLUN-F, TOLUN-IIR, ground-launched TOLUN-S, and the newest addition, TOLUN-EW, a tactical electronic warfare system. The manufacturer’s announcement of mass-production capacity marks a significant boost to Türkiye’s stand-off strike capabilities, enabling the country’s armed forces to conduct more effective and precise strikes against enemy targets.
