Bill Gates Testifies to House Oversight Committee About Jeffrey Epstein’s Alleged Blackmail Plans

In a recent transcript release, the world’s fifth-richest man, Bill Gates, shared with the House Oversight Committee his account of late financier Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged plans to blackmail him. According to the testimony, Gates suspects that Epstein, infamous for his illicit business dealings and associations, had considered blackmailing him over several extramarital affairs that dated back to the 1990s.

During the testimony, which took place last year but was not made public until now, Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, revealed to the committee that he first met Epstein in 2013 at the recommendation of Wexner, a wealthy entrepreneur who had invested in Microsoft. Gates described Epstein as “a lot of fun to be with” and noted that they engaged in conversations centered on philanthropy, science, and history.

However, Gates testified that his association with Epstein became strained due to concerns regarding some of the financier’s business endeavors. “It soon became clear that Epstein would be a very negative influence,” Gates said during his testimony.

In a particularly disturbing revelation, Gates told the committee that he suspected Epstein had been tracking his whereabouts over the years, including during his frequent visits to Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse. He explained that it was likely due to the fact that Gates had, at the time, been engaged in several extramarital affairs. “I did go through a very difficult time in my life,” Gates said, while recounting his experiences with the late financier.

According to the transcript release, Gates fears that Epstein may have been gathering such information with the intention of using it against him, in order to elicit concessions or favors. Gates did not specify to the committee which concessions or favors he thought Epstein might demand but did state that he considered Epstein’s plans “very frightening.”

As for Gates’ relationship with Epstein, the tech mogul expressed deep regret for their association in the years following their initial meeting. “I have no one to blame but myself,” Gates admitted when asked about his involvement with Epstein. His apology, however, comes years after allegations against the financier emerged, following Epstein’s tragic demise in 2019.

Gates’ testimony provides insight into a darker side of philanthropy and wealth, underscoring the risks that powerful figures, especially those with large private networks and resources, often face when interacting with individuals such as Jeffrey Epstein, infamous for exploiting his power to manipulate others.
