Germany, with their world-class squad, took home a few titles but ultimately fell short of their expectations, which included securing more gold medals in this year’s championships.
In the women’s team event, Germany faced a stiff challenge from the top-seeded Russian team but was ultimately unable to overcome them. England’s women’s team put up a spirited fight in the quarter-finals before being knocked out of the competition.
