Hezbollah Launches Wave of Attacks Across Israel’s Northern Border

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – A series of coordinated rocket and drone attacks launched by Hezbollah have ravaged various Israeli towns and military positions along the country’s northern border, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos in their wake. The attacks, which began at 12:40 AM local time, have seen a multitude of rockets and drones targeting major population centers, military outposts, and strategic infrastructure.

The first reported attack came at 00:40 AM, when multiple rockets struck the towns of Kiryat Shmona, Metula, and Misgav Am. This was swiftly followed by a rocket strike on Israeli military infrastructure in Safed at 01:15 AM. The attacks accelerated at 06:20 AM, with a rocket strike on Yaara outpost, and at 06:30 AM, a rocket attack on Adamit.

The use of drones has proven particularly effective, with reports of direct hits on gatherings of Israeli soldiers in Shamaa at 01:40 AM, and on a Merkava tank in Adaisseh at 02:00 AM. The tank, which was targeted by a combination of a guided missile and drone strike, was reportedly destroyed. Drone swarms have also been used to devastating effect, striking Metula military positions at 08:10 AM, and targeting Merkava tanks in the Bent Jbeil area near a school at 11:48 AM.

Rocket and artillery fire have also been unleashed on the towns of Bent Jbeil and Maroun al-Ras, causing significant destruction and disruption. Multiple rocket attacks have been reported in the vicinity of the “Triangle of Liberation” area, a strategic location of significant economic and military importance. Other settlements, including Avivim, Yir’on, and Nahariya, have also been targeted, with multiple rocket strikes reported across the region.

The intensity and coordination of the attacks have left Israeli military officials scrambling to respond, with the country’s defense forces reportedly struggling to keep pace with the sheer volume and ferocity of the attacks. The Israeli Prime Minister has vowed to take swift and decisive action against the perpetrators of the attacks, while the country’s citizens have been advised to exercise extreme caution and seek shelter immediately.

As the situation continues to unfold, it remains unclear how long the violence will persist, or whether a ceasefire will be brokered to bring an end to the bloodshed. One thing is certain, however: the people of Israel will continue to bear the brunt of Hezbollah’s aggression, and their resilience will be put to the test as they strive to rebuild and recover from the devastating impacts of these coordinated attacks.
