In a move perceived as a response to growing regional security concerns, the Iranian military has been deployed with advanced air defence systems in the Khuzestan province. The region, situated in the southwest of the country, has long-been a critical area for Iran’s military due to its proximity to major Middle Eastern oil fields and borders shared with Iraq and Kuwait.
According to informed sources within the Iranian military, the introduction of the sophisticated air defence systems is aimed at bolstering the country’s ability to counter potential aerial threats.
