TEHRAN, Iran – In a bid to eradicate the threat of extremist groups along its borders, Iran’s judicial authorities have executed two individuals allegedly affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Mohi al-Din Abdollahi and Hossein Palani, for their involvement in armed action against the Islamic Republic.
According to reports, the duo was part of a cell that had been established in the Bamo strategic heights, a strategic location situated along the Iran-Iraq border. The cell, which consisted of ISIS sympathizers and operatives, was allegedly responsible for recruiting and equipping members for infiltration and operations that aimed to destabilize the country.

Notably, three personnel belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) lost their lives in the clashes.
