Iranian Intelligence Ministry Claims Dismantling of Israeli Spy Cells in West Azerbaijan, Kerman, and Alborz Provinces

TEHRAN, Iran – In a press release issued late yesterday evening, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced the culmination of a major operation to dismantle two cells allegedly operating in conjunction with the Israeli intelligence service Mossad. The reported dismantling of these cells in the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kerman, and Alborz has sent shockwaves throughout the country’s security apparatus.

Accord to the intelligence agency, the West Azerbaijan cell was engaged in planning and preparing attacks on various sensitive facilities, including potentially targeting the Iranian capital city of Tehran. Additionally, the cell had allegedly been conspiring to carry out an assassination plot in the city, although specific details regarding the intended target remain unconfirmed.

During the operational crackdown in West Azerbaijan, a violent confrontation erupted between Iranian intelligence officers and members of the suspected Mossad spy cell. Regrettably, the exchange of gunfire resulted in the fatal injury of one suspect. The intelligence ministry has issued an official statement confirming the death, and promising a thorough investigation into the incidents surrounding the cell’s dismantling.

In the provinces of Kerman and Alborz, Iranian intelligence agents successfully infiltrated and gathered intelligence on the other suspected Mossad cell, prior to apprehending the suspects in a series of targeted raids. According to reports, the operation in Kerman resulted in the capture of several individuals who are currently being held and interrogated by Iranian authorities.

While the allegations of Israeli involvement with these cells have not been independently verified by this publication, the claims made by the Iranian Intelligence Ministry are consistent with longstanding reports of Mossad activity within Iranian borders. This is not the first time Iranian officials have accused the Mossad of conducting clandestine operations within the country, and it is unlikely that diplomatic tensions will ease in the near future.

Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi reacted sharply to the news, condemning the alleged Israeli actions and declaring his government’s commitment to protecting national security. Raisi vowed to take decisive action against foreign entities he claimed were working to undermine Iran’s sovereignty and stability.

As international observers closely monitor the complex web of tensions and rivalries between Iran, Israel, and their respective regional allies, this development adds to the growing uncertainty and volatility in the volatile Middle Eastern theater.
