Tehran, Iran – The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has released a scathing statement condemning the recent aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran. Ghalibaf accused the two nations of orchestrating a war effort aimed at upending the strategic balance of the region.
According to Ghalibaf, Iran has endured severe aggression, and the 40-day conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran was a “criminal act.” He stressed that the country’s resilient nation defied expectations, causing significant disappointment among its adversaries.
The Iranian Parliament Speaker specifically highlighted the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, as well as country officials and more than 3,000 innocent Iranian citizens – predominantly women and children – who were killed during the conflict. Thousands of service and residential units in Iran were also targeted, leaving a trail of destruction and devastation.
Ghalibaf’s remarks come as tensions between Iran and the international community continue to escalate. Tensions arose after the US, with the support of Israel, launched a concerted effort against Iran’s military installations and key infrastructure.
Experts have suggested that the US and Israeli actions were likely aimed at undermining Iran’s nuclear capabilities and strategic foothold in the region. This perspective is supported by the fact that the conflict specifically targeted key sites, including nuclear facilities.
Iranian officials and observers have described the conflict as an act of aggression that grossly disregarded international law and ignored the United Nations Charter. They have also accused the US and Israel of deliberately targeting civilians, including women and children, in an apparent attempt to destabilize the Iranian government.
As for the US and Israeli intentions, analysts agree that the conflict marked a significant escalation in the region, further destabilizing the delicate balance of power in the Middle East. However, Iranian officials insist that their nation has overcome the aggression and remains firm in its resolve to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In light of the ongoing tensions, diplomatic engagements between Iran and the international community are anticipated to be critical in determining the trajectory of regional dynamics.
