Iran’s Foreign Ministry Vehemently Rejects Al Jazeera’s Report on US-Iran Negotiations Proposal

Tehran, Iran – In a statement released on Tuesday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry categorically rejected a recent report by Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera claiming that the country had proposed to the previous US administration details of its nuclear program in exchange for negotiations. The ministry’s spokesperson vehemently disputed the report, emphasizing that no such proposals were ever made regarding Iran’s nuclear activities.

According to Al Jazeera, the Iranian proposal, made to the Trump regime, included concessions on the country’s nuclear program in exchange for an end to US sanctions and military aggression. However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry rejected these claims in the strongest possible terms. The statement issued by ministry officials emphasized that the proposal “focuses on the end of war” and makes “no words about Iran’s nuclear program.”

“This report is entirely fabricated and lacks any shred of truth,” said Saeed Khatibzadeh, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson. “We categorically reject any claim suggesting that Iran had proposed concessions on its nuclear program as part of a proposal to the previous US administration.” Khatibzadeh stressed that the Iranian government has consistently adhered to its position that its nuclear program is exclusively for peaceful purposes, emphasizing that the country’s nuclear activities are subject to the IAEA’s (International Atomic Energy Agency) inspections.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry statement also underscored the country’s unwavering commitment to its national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Khatibzadeh emphasized that the Iranian proposal, in fact, seeks to establish a framework for dialogue based on mutual respect and a commitment to peace.

The rejection of Al Jazeera’s report by Iran’s Foreign Ministry comes at a time when tensions between Iran and the West remain high. The country has maintained its position that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is the only viable framework for resolving the nuclear issue, under which the Iranian government had agreed to certain nuclear-related restrictions in exchange for relief from US, European Union, and UN sanctions.

Iran’s commitment to maintaining its sovereignty and upholding its national interests has been consistently demonstrated throughout the negotiations process. In a statement, Khatibzadeh underscored that the Iranian proposal would aim to “pave the way for a lasting peace” between the two nations, and emphasized that Iran remains open to dialogue based on the principles of mutual respect and cooperation.
