Iran’s IRGC Unleashes Broad Military Strike Against U.S. Targets in Mideast

TEHRAN, IRAN – Reports have emerged of a coordinated missile and drone attack carried out by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against multiple U.S. military installations across the Middle East. According to sources, the IRGC claimed responsibility for targeting 85 U.S. military targets in the region.

Details of the attacks reveal that Bahrain’s U.S. Fifth Fleet, in addition to several other military sites in the nearby kingdom, were struck by the IRGC’s missiles and drones. Furthermore, Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base also suffered the brunt of the attack, sustaining significant damage and disruption to operations. The Salman Port, located in the Emirate of Oman, was allegedly targeted by the IRGC, sparking concerns of potential oil supply disruptions.

Iran’s state media agency published a statement issued by the IRGC, which detailed the scope of the military operation. According to the statement, the IRGC launched simultaneous strikes using ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) designed to target multiple high-priority U.S. military installations. The IRGC claimed that all 85 targets were successfully struck.

The statement further claimed that a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone was intercepted and shot down by IRGC air defenses during the operation. However, officials at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) have declined to comment on the status of the said drone.

In response to the reported attack, senior U.S. officials have expressed grave concern and outrage. A spokesperson for the DoD confirmed that multiple U.S. military installations in the region suffered damage resulting from the attack. “The United States will not tolerate this type of aggression from Iran and will take the necessary steps to protect its personnel and interests in the region,” the spokesperson stated.

Tensions have been escalating between the United States and Iran in recent years, primarily due to ongoing disputes over nuclear programs and U.S. military intervention in the region. The reported IRGC attack is an escalation of these already heightened tensions, and may signal a marked turning point in the current conflict.

Details regarding the aftermath and potential repercussions of the attack are still emerging. This situation will be closely monitored by the international community as officials scramble to respond to the developing crisis.

While the Iranian government has yet to officially provide additional information on the reported attack, the international community may expect heightened diplomatic pressure to be brought to bear in the coming days and weeks.
