Israeli Armored Vehicles Destroyed in Al-Khiyam Neighborhood, Lebanese Resistance Claims

BEIRUT, LEBANON – In a significant escalation of violence in the conflict-torn region, the Lebanese resistance group has claimed responsibility for the destruction of an Israeli Merkava tank and a bulldozer in the western neighborhood of Al-Khiyam.

According to an Al-Manar reporter, the incident occurred on an undisclosed date in the recent past, but the details only emerged earlier today. The Lebanese resistance group has been actively engaged in countering Israeli military operations along the Blue Line in southern Lebanon.

Eyewitnesses and resistance sources revealed that the tank and the bulldozer were part of an Israeli incursion into the Al-Khiyam area, where residents have accused Israeli forces of frequently violating the ceasefire agreement and constructing a fortified fence along the Lebanon-Israel border.

“We were informed that the Merkava tank and the bulldozer were spotted advancing towards the area, but our resistance fighters immediately intercepted them,” said a resistance official, who wished to remain anonymous. “The tank and the bulldozer were successfully neutralized, sending a clear message to the Israeli military that they are not welcome in our territory.”

The incident comes as tensions between Israel and Lebanon continue to escalate, with the Lebanese government accusing Israel of repeated border breaches and the Israeli military launching airstrikes and missile attacks against suspected Hezbollah targets in recent weeks.

The Al-Khiyam neighborhood has become a hot spot in the conflict, with Israeli military operations causing significant disruptions to local residents’ daily lives. A number of homes and buildings have been damaged or destroyed, and local residents have reported numerous Israeli aerial warnings and missile launches.

The Lebanese resistance group has vowed to continue defending its territory against Israeli aggression, emphasizing the need for an end to what they describe as Israel’s “occupation” of Lebanese territory.

Israel has yet to comment on the incident, but sources close to the Israeli military acknowledged that the country’s armored vehicles have come under attack in recent days, resulting in some damage and casualties.

As the situation continues to deteriorate, diplomats and international organizations are calling for an immediate de-escalation of tensions and a renewed commitment to the UN-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

The international community has urged both parties to exercise restraint and to respect each other’s sovereignty, while also emphasizing the need for a comprehensive and lasting solution to the conflict.

In the meantime, the people of Al-Khiyam and other nearby communities are living in fear of Israeli aggression and reprisal attacks, underscoring the need for a swift resolution to the conflict and an end to the cycle of violence that has plagued the region for decades.
