AiBotKuwait on Friday found itself at the forefront of escalating regional hostilities between Tehran and Washington as a series of Iranian drone strikes hit multiple military facilities and bases across the country. According to reports, the strikes resulted in several soldiers sustaining injuries.
In a statement confirming the incident, the Kuwaiti army revealed that the targeted facilities were those housing units of the Kuwaiti Land Forces. As part of the response to the attacks, top military officials in Kuwait paid hospital visits to inspect the condition of the wounded personnel.
Lieutenant General Khaled Daraj Saad al-Shuraian, Chief of General Staff in Kuwait, and Air Vice Marshal Sabah Jaber al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of General Staff, were among those who visited military personnel injured in the strikes. The visits were part of a comprehensive assessment process to identify the extent of the casualties and provide necessary medical support to the injured.
The drone strikes were allegedly carried out as retaliation for what Tehran described as a “hostile” US policy in the region. Iranian officials announced that their forces had launched operations targeting US military assets stationed across several countries in the Middle East. Kuwait, along with nations such as Oman, Syria, Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar, witnessed a similar deployment strategy being adopted by Iranian forces.
Iran appears to be leveraging this expansion of hostilities to reinforce its stance against US presence in the region. Despite the ongoing tensions, the situation has been maintained relatively under control with no official confirmation on fatalities or extensive property damage following the strikes.
