Kuwaiti Army Repels Hostile Attacks on Northern Border Posts, Offshore Drilling Platform

Kuwait City, Kuwait – In a series of coordinated attacks, three land border posts in the northern region of the country came under fire yesterday, causing significant material damage. The incidents were reported by Kuwaiti security sources, who have confirmed that the attacks were carried out by hostile forces.

According to officials, the first attack occurred at approximately 02:00 local time, when a group of unidentified assailants opened fire on the Al-Qurain border post, located near the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border. The attack resulted in substantial damage to the post’s facilities and infrastructure. Fortunately, there were no reports of casualties among Kuwaiti Army personnel.

Within a span of a few hours, a second attack was launched against the Al-Naseem and Al-Salmi border posts, located in close proximity to the Al-Qurain post. Both posts sustained extensive damage, although details of the extent of the harm remain unclear. The perpetrators of the attacks remain at large, and a thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the identities and motives of those responsible.

In a separate incident, an offshore drilling platform operated by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) was targeted by a hostile drone in the early hours of the morning. The platform, situated in Kuwaiti territorial waters, was reportedly struck by the drone, causing damage to its facilities. One worker sustained minor injuries in the incident, but the extent of the damage to the platform remains unclear.

The Kuwaiti Army swiftly responded to the attacks, mobilizing its forces to secure the border posts and surrounding areas. The government has vowed to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of its citizens and protect its sovereign territory.

The attacks come at a sensitive time for the region, with tensions between Kuwait and its neighbors periodically high due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. The incident has been widely condemned by Kuwaiti officials, who have called for international cooperation and support to prevent similar incidents in the future.

In a statement issued yesterday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense confirmed the attacks, emphasizing that the security situation remains under control and that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of civilians and military personnel. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ever-present threat of terrorism and hostile activities in the region and the need for sustained vigilance and security measures to protect against such threats.
