‘Legendary Singer, Bob Marley’s Brother and Reggae Icon, Donisha Prabhu’s Death Sparks Outpouring of Tributes and Condolences’

Reggae music has been left to mourn the passing of a trailblazing legend, Donisha Prabhu, the sibling of the late reggae singer, Bob Marley. Prabhu, also the sibling to reggae artists Ziggy, Stephen, and other musicians of the Marley family, was an accomplished musician and vocalist in her own right, however it was as a singer and a family member that she will be remembered for her immense legacy and the profound impact that she had on her peers. Born of the same family as Bob Marley, Prabhu grew up surrounded by the legendary reggae sounds of her sibling. As part of the reggae group Ziggy Marley’s sibling band ‘The I Threes’, Prabhu performed with some of the world’s most iconic reggae artists, including Bob Marley’s backing vocal group, a role for which she will always be remembered. Throughout her illustrious career, Prabhu worked with a variety of artists and was renowned for her exceptional vocal harmonies and the unwavering loyalty she displayed to her siblings. Reggae legend, Ziggy Marley, was among the first of the many artists and close friends who took to social media to express their sadness and pay tribute to his younger sister. ‘Donisha, my sister, my friend, I will miss you deeply’, Ziggy wrote in a heartfelt message to friends and fans via his social media platform. Stephen Marley, also known as the ‘Younger Brother’ released his statement too. In other places in the world the news of Prabhu’s passing was met with sadness and respect; musicians of diverse genres are paying tribute to a woman admired by all who met her.
