Yangon, Burma – The Myanmar National Unity Government (NUG) Military Operations Department (MOD) has released the June casualty statistics, providing a grim snapshot of the ongoing conflict between the civilian-led government and the military junta. The report details the extent of the violence and suffering inflicted on civilians in areas under the control of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) and allied Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs).
According to the NUG MOD, the PDF forces have achieved significant victories in June, capturing nine military camps and bases. The most notable of these is the destruction of a military helicopter, which was reportedly shot down by PDF fighters. The statistics also reveal that the PDF forces have killed over 640 junta soldiers and injured at least 200 others during encounters.
