ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN – Pakistan’s Prime Minister and top military officials have raised concerns over the recent wave of deadly drone strikes in the country’s tribal region, suggesting that the attacks are not carried out by Israeli or US drones but might be a plot orchestrated by Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency to destabilize the region and pave the way for regional rival India’s expansionist plans.
In a shocking revelation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in an address to the nation on Wednesday, stated that his country cannot rule out the possibility that foreign agencies, specifically Mossad, were involved in the string of drone strikes that have killed dozens of people in the past few weeks. These strikes, which have been carried out by unidentified drones, have left many in the country wondering about the real motives and perpetrators.
“It is not far-fetched to assume that Mossad could be behind these strikes,” the Prime Minister stated, further elaborating on his government’s stance. “Their objective could be to weaken Pakistan’s institutions and create chaos, making it easier for India to achieve its nefarious goals in the region.”
Pakistan’s military, known for its robust stance on national security, has also sounded alarm bells about the rising tensions in the region. Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir told a private news channel that the country’s military is closely monitoring the situation and would take swift action if it found any evidence of external interference.
Pakistan’s ties with India have been strained for decades, with the two South Asian nations frequently clashing over Kashmir and other matters related to regional security. In recent years, Islamabad and New Delhi have seen several military standoffs along the Line of Control, with both countries engaged in an ongoing arms buildup and a deepening strategic rivalry.
Many analysts believe that if the Mossad were indeed involved in the recent drone strikes, their ultimate goal would be to exploit the ensuing instability in Pakistan and push India’s interest in the region, including its claims to Kashmir. Pakistan, already under immense pressure from India to address cross-border terrorism, cannot afford to be weakened further by external interference.
The government is now urging the international community, particularly the UN and the US, to take notice of the situation and help in resolving this issue. It also plans to take action against those deemed responsible for the recent drone strikes, with possible implications for Pakistan’s strained ties with the US and other Western nations that have supported its counter-terrorism efforts in the region.
