RED ALERT: Multiple Sirens Sound in Upper Galilee Region of Northern Israel

TEL AVIV, Israel – Red alert warning sirens blared throughout the Upper Galilee region of northern Israel on Wednesday evening, sending local residents to emergency shelters as tensions escalate in the already volatile area.

According to eyewitnesses, including a Twitter user @wfwitness, at least five different cities within the Upper Galilee region were affected by the red alert sirens, with reports indicating that the sirens sounded in locations such as Safed (also known as Tzfat), Shaghur, and Kawkab.

Eyewitnesses describe a sense of panic as residents rushed to their designated emergency shelters in response to the warning sirens. However, no immediate reports of injuries or damage have been confirmed by local authorities.

While the exact reason behind the sirens sounding is unclear, there have been heightened concerns in recent days regarding potential Iranian drone or rocket attacks emanating from Syria or Lebanon on Israeli territory. This follows the recent Israeli operation in Syria that targeted Iranian targets.

“We have instructed everyone to go to their secure spaces,” an Israeli army spokesperson announced, but provided no additional information.

The Israeli military has remained tight-lipped about the incident so far, only stating that the country’s air defenses have not been activated to intercept any projectiles or drones.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has remained tight-lipped on the subject.

Netanyahu, known for his assertive stance on national security issues, has led the country’s response to Iran’s alleged involvement on Israeli soil.
