TAIZ GOVERNORATE, YEMEN – The Saudi-backed National Resistance Forces have announced a successful defense against an aerial attack launched by the Houthi (Ansarallah) rebels in Mokha, Taiz Governorate. According to a statement released by the National Resistance Forces, their personnel intercepted and downed 11 drones launched by the Houthis in the vicinity of Mokha earlier today.
Eyewitnesses have confirmed that the incident occurred around local time, as Houthis launched a series of drone strikes targeting the strategic port city of Mokha, a key location in southern Yemen. However, the National Resistance Forces, comprising Yemeni government loyalists, security personnel, and anti-Houthi fighters, claimed to have intercepted and destroyed nearly all incoming drones.
While the Houthis have previously employed drones effectively in their assault campaigns, the Saudi-backed forces appear to have adapted their defensive measures to address the aerial threat.
