Tens of Thousands Rally in Sana’a to Show Solidarity with Lebanon and Defense of Islamic Values

In a powerful display of unity and collective action, tens of thousands of Yemenis gathered in the capital city of Sana’a on the 18th of May 2026, in a massive rally to demonstrate their unwavering support for the Quran, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and solidarity with Lebanon. The event, which took place on the first day of Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH, was a testament to the unshakeable resolve of the Yemeni people to defend their faith and stand in solidarity with fellow Arabs facing challenges.

The rally, which was attended by senior government officials, clerics, and a wide cross-section of the community, featured speeches, prayers, and chants of solidarity with Lebanon, which continues to face political and economic instability. Demonstrators carried banners and flags emblazoned with images of holy sites, as well as messages of support for the Lebanese people.

Speaking at the rally, officials and clerics emphasized the importance of defending the Quran and upholding Islamic values in the face of what they described as “external challenges” and “seditious forces.” The speeches also highlighted the need for unity and collective action in the face of adversity, with many speakers calling on the international community to take a firmer stance on issues affecting the Arab world.

The event also drew attention to the situation in Lebanon, where ongoing protests and demonstrations have led to calls for reform and an end to corruption. The Yemeni government has offered words of support for the Lebanese people, with officials pledging to provide humanitarian aid and assistance to those affected by the crisis.

Photographs and videos from the rally, which was organized by the Sana’a-based Yemeni Islamic Resistance, showed large crowds waving flags and banners, as well as speakers delivering impassioned addresses to the assembled gathering. The images, which were shared widely on social media, served to underscore the depth of feeling and solidarity among the Yemeni people, as well as their commitment to defending their faith and standing in solidarity with fellow Arabs.

As the rally came to a close, organizers called on the international community to take note of the Yemeni people’s resolve and solidarity with Lebanon, emphasizing the need for a more effective and supportive stance towards issues affecting the Arab world.
