ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE – In a significant development, the Military Research and Development (MİTÜK) Center of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MoD) unveiled the country’s first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at the SAHA 2026 exhibition in Istanbul, a premier international defense and aerospace event. Speaking at the SAHA 2026 launch ceremony, President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), Prof. M. Ilhan Karagöl, commended the Turkish MoD’s R&D center for its innovative endeavors, emphasizing the Yıldırımhan ICBM’s potential to significantly enhance the country’s deterrence capabilities.
