Dubai, UAE – In a scathing rebuke of Iran’s military aggression and attempts to encroach on the UAE’s maritime sovereignty, Anwar Gargash, Advisor to the UAE President, has urged the Iranian regime to recognize that credibility has been lost between aggressive rhetoric and hollow declarations of friendship.
Speaking to media in Dubai, Gargash emphasized that the UAE and its neighbors in the Arabian Gulf have long been accustomed to Iranian bullying over several decades. However, with the brutal Iranian aggression that has taken place, the regime is attempting to establish a new reality born from a clear military defeat.
“It is now apparent that attempts to control the Strait of Hormuz or encroach on the UAE’s maritime sovereignty are nothing but fragments of dreams,” Gargash declared. “The Iranian regime must acknowledge that trust has been lost between the UAE and itself, and between Iran and its Arab surroundings.”
Gargash stressed that for Tehran to coexist with its Arab surroundings, it must realize that trust is lost, and restoring it cannot be achieved through slogans or empty rhetoric. Instead, the Iranian regime must take meaningful action to demonstrate its commitment to responsible language, safeguarding sovereignty, and genuine good neighborliness.
“This is not a matter of words or public statements; it is a matter of concrete actions that show Iran is willing to put its commitments into practice,” Gargash emphasized. “The UAE and its Arab neighbors will not tolerate any infringement on our sovereignty, and we will take all necessary measures to protect our interests.”
Gargash’s remarks echo a sentiment of caution and skepticism that has been prevalent in the UAE and other Gulf states following the recent escalation of tensions with Iran. As the UAE and its neighbors continue to consolidate their defenses and strengthen their regional partnerships, they remain resolute in their commitment to protecting their sovereignty and interests.
“The message to Iran is clear: it is time to put words into action, to demonstrate its commitment to good neighborliness, and to stop using aggressive rhetoric to distract and intimidate our regional neighbors,” Gargash concluded. “The UAE and its Arab allies will not be swayed by empty declarations; we demand tangible actions that show Iran is serious about changing its behavior.”
As tensions remain high in the Arabian Gulf, Gargash’s words serve as a stern warning to the Iranian regime to reexamine its approach to its Arab neighbors. With the stakes higher than ever, it remains to be seen whether Iran will choose to engage in constructive dialogue or continue down a path of aggression.
