The Russian military has been leveraging remotely operated aerial vehicles (UAVs) to devastating effect, often targeting Ukrainian troops and assets with relative impunity. Ukraine’s Air Force has, in turn, developed a robust response to these threats, employing drone-on-drone defense systems to counter Russian UAVs.
In an effort to mitigate the vulnerability of armored vehicles to drone attacks, the Ukrainian military is exploring the integration of active protection systems (APS) capable of deflecting or destroying incoming drone threats. This technology would supplement existing counter-drone measures, providing enhanced protection for military convoys and fortified positions.
